Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much will it cost me to be part of Tektique?

For tertiary institutions ready to showcase their technology on Tektique, no cost will be attributable to them. For third party service providers who wish to be partners of the Tektique initiative, an annual fee, as decided upon by Tektique, will be payable.

2. What can Tektique offer me?

For a tertiary institution Tektique will enable you to be better able to showcase your technology for commercialisation – get you in-touch with the relevant service providers, funders and litigators. For partner organistions we offer you exposure to potential clients in the form of Technology Transfer Offices of the various tertiary institutions. A more in-depth valuation of the value propositions will be given upon request.

3. What are blurbs

A blurb is a brochure/write-up of your respective technology to be used as marking material for your technology.

4. How do I send the Blurbs?

All blurbs must me in the template format found on the website, write-ups that are not sent in this format will be returned to the technology transfer office where it comes from, to be placed in the format.

5. What happens to my technology once it is on Tektique?

Partner organizations, particularly funding entities will get a two day period where they can assess the technology before it is placed on the website to be viewed by others. During this period they will have the opportunity to decide, if they wish, to invest in the technology and stop its publication of the site. Tektique will then link the funder with the owner of the IP and facilitate the deal.

6. Who owns my IP once it is on Tektique

All IP loaded onto the Tektique website is the property of the institution from which it comes from. Any and all commercialisation that comes from this IP will be the property of that institution. Tektique exists to be the platform that connects the IP owners with potential partners or funders. Tektique takes no shareholding or remuneration for this service.
