Thermoelectric evaluation of the dopant density of narrow gap p-type semiconductors Method of and apparatus for determining dopant density in semiconductor materials, particularly p-type semiconducting materials. This method overcomes the shortcomings of conventional Hall effect measurements, which is often complicated by the presence of degenerate surface/interface conducting layers

Integrated Clinical Management of Demyelinating Diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis. A new protocol for a pathology supported, gene-based intervention provides a model system to address the lifestyle link in any complex, multi-factorial disease. The protocol is for the integrated clinical management of patients diagnosed with demyelinating diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), following the identification of a combination of genetic and pathological/biochemical abnormalities involved in relevant metabolic pathways, including immunological, viral or lifestyle factors, implicated in initiation, development or progression of the disease phenotype.

Cordless surgical implant controller Implantology is a growing medical field, with most implants being in the dental field. A portable, cordless surgical torque controller was developed for use in dental implant surgery at accurate torque settings for bone preparation and placement of implants. This system will serve as an alternative for existing systems, while allowing for accurately monitored torque settings to avoid surgical complications. Cordless operation and wireless control through a foot pedal will permit greatly increased operator flexibility and dexterity, while a battery power source will allow for mobile surgeries.

NecroChronometer™ - Apparatus for Estimating Post-moterm Interval of a Corpse The NecroChronometer (necro- Greek nekros meaning corpse; -chrono- Greek chronos meaning time; -meter Greek metros meaning measure) will be a portable medical device for the forensic pathology that will be used to calculate the time interval between death and when the device is used on a corpse. This interval is known as the post-mortem interval (PMI). The NecroChronometer will be a portable electronic device that will combine three well described methods of calculating the PMI in one machine. It will use the core-body temperature method (rectal or sub-hepatic route), the tympanic membrane temperature method and the vitreous humour potassium ion (K?) concentration method to calculate the PMI. It will have a built-in weather station to measure the microclimate conditions around the body; GPS capability; means of accessing past weather information of a given GPS coordinate for a given period of time.su““
